How Bush Hounds Protected Payments Work
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. The seller's payout is not released when the buyer pays — it is released only after the required collection confirmation is completed and there is no active dispute.

What the statuses mean
PAYMENT SECURED
Stripe has confirmed the buyer's payment. It is held on the platform side — the seller has not been paid yet.
AWAITING COLLECTION
Contact details are unlocked and both parties arrange the handover.
COLLECTION CONFIRMED
Both buyer and seller have confirmed the dog or item was collected through the Bush Hounds flow.
FUNDS RELEASED TO SELLER
The seller's net payout has been transferred. Stripe bank settlement timing may vary.
DISPUTE UNDER REVIEW
A dispute is open. Automatic seller payout is paused while the matter is reviewed.
A simple example
Sale price
$1,000
Bush Hounds success fee
$29
Seller net payout
$971
The buyer pays $1,000 through Stripe. Bush Hounds retains its $29 successful-sale fee, and the seller's net payout ($971) is transferred to their payout account after the required collection confirmation is completed. Stripe's payment-processing fees are shown separately in the seller's settlement breakdown before the sale completes.
Disputes & problems
If the dog or item has not been collected, or there is a genuine issue with the transaction, the buyer should not authorise payment release.

An active dispute prevents automatic seller payout while the matter is under review.
Bush Hounds can review the transaction, payment status, collection status and communication available within the platform.
Refund handling depends on whether the seller payout has already occurred.
Each matter is reviewed on its merits — Bush Hounds does not promise a specific dispute outcome.
While a dispute is under review, automatic seller payout is paused. Bush Hounds reviews the transaction, payment and collection status and platform communication before deciding how funds are handled — the outcome depends on whether the seller payout has already occurred.
