State-specific obligations
Dog advertising and transfer requirements vary by state, territory and local council. Sellers must comply with the rules applying to their location and circumstances; a microchip number alone does not necessarily satisfy every requirement.
Victoria
Victorian advertisements require the applicable Pet Exchange Register source number and microchip identification. Sellers remain responsible for accurate identifiers and applicable exemptions or additional obligations.
Other jurisdictions
Check the current guidance from your state or territory animal management authority before listing. Breeder or supply identifiers, registration, disclosures and local rules may apply. Marketplace validation is not government approval or legal advice.
Interstate collection
Before arranging transport, both parties must confirm destination-state registration, ownership transfer, animal health and entry requirements, including any requirements applying to Tasmania. Arrange lawful, humane transport.
Age and disclosure
The marketplace prevents premature puppy handover under its collection controls. Provide an accurate birth date, collection availability and all required health and behavioural disclosures. Contact Support if your circumstances require review.
